Decent article on tuning APs on Attainable Adventures just came out. Personally learned a lot from it. Turns out there’s smart and dumb APs but he goes through how to get the most from your dumb AP. Further turns out manufacturers instructions are misleading so he explains basic principles and problems.
Agree with above posters if it has nothing to do with the AP alignment is best done out of the water. You can use a lazer to bring put where the rudder(s) are pointed to the tiller arms. And then go from there. Sometimes they aren’t lined up even when held by a key.
Sometimes there’s water ingress into the rudder and the post and attached internal supports aren’t lined up. So everything is perfect inside but misaligned outside.
