Tecma's are fairly common here with an excellent reputation. I see at least one in my future. On the other hand ME's are not easy to find and are quite expensive.

We have two Tecma’s, one older version with a deep-ish bowl, and a new version with a somewhat shallower bowl, both flawless performers but priced accordingly at $AU2000.00
We tried to acquire a ME in Oz, but very difficult to find.
Be aware the shallow bowl version will have those males with a “deep keel” touching the waterline with all the lowest water height selected!
A definite shock to the system! ;-)

Yeah, that's true, the low model is really low. But it's just perfect propped up on the 5 inch high platforms. Just like home.

We had a Tecma in our 2012 NP 39 and have one in our NP 45. They have been flawless.

I had a Vacuflush in the Green boat for over 10 years. I bought it second hand and installed it myself. Never so much as replaced the duck bills though I did have them onboard along (can't remember which ones) with other spares for the head.

It was a fairly short run to the tank and easy to access.

We’ve been walking up to the marinas toilets but having a porta potty is something I’d haven’t thought of as a backup. Been in the Caribbean or where going outside 3m meant coastal restrictions didn’t apply so appreciate the change in mind set.

For now will do nothing until we come back. First time I’ve left a boat with anything in a holding tank except a small bit of clean fresh water or antifreeze. Is what it is.
