I wouldn't go there. I had one on my smaller sailboat, but on a larger trawler it would get overwhelmed I think. Noisy too. You can install a hydraulic ram from a pump to operate your steering - even with cables. More expensive and involved, but the right way to go about it.
The control head will operate the hydraulic pump, but I thought the wheel steering came with an electric motor that drives a belt around a large pulley attached to the ship wheel.
