- 22' Devlin Surf Scoter
Manufacturer: Sam Devlin
Year, Model, Length: 1989 Surf Scoter 22'
Price: $50,000.00 negotiable to the right buyer.
Location: Southeast Pennsylvania
Owner? (or Relationship to Owner): Yes
Contact: PM preferred
I'm sure many here would not consider this boat as a "Trawler" per se. I have been a fan of Sam Devlin's designs since the late 1980's and purchased a set of plans for his Surf Scoter shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, life had other plans and I was unable to build her but I stared at the plans for over twenty years. Fast forward to 2013 when I was at the low place in my life. I happened upon this boat for sale in upstate New York and at last this was my chance. With a dream finally being fulfilled I set about repairing things that needed doing. Since then I have traveled from Annapolis and north as far as Martha's Vineyard extensively. This boat literally saved my life and sent it in a direction that I could never have imagined. All for the better.
I have since bought a 26' Devlin Black Crown. So as much as I love this boat, I'm afraid it's time to let her go.
I recently re-powered her with a 50 HP Honda outboard with approx. 300 +/- hours, power trim and tilt.
New Load-Rite trailer approx. 4 years old.
PM me for more information.
I have been in love with these boats for years. I have looked at every Surf Scoter, that I have have been able to locate on-line, and I would not have traded this
boat for any other. When I bought the boat my surveyor said, it was not a boat, but "a small ship".
Misanthropes would do well to pass on this particular boat as it attracts people like flies to stuff.
Thanks for looking.
Dave
