Offshore Weather Sites

I will be bringing a boat from Portland, Oregon to Vancouver Island. I have identified two sites online for wind and wave information...Buoy weather and Passage weather. Does anyone have any recommendations for other good weather sites?

Most all of the sites obtain their raw data from NOAA, & NWS. They may package it differently and add graphics of their choice. Predictions may be tweeked somewhat but basically they all present the same data perhaps more options on one site or another in how you view the data, find one you like and compare it to one you don't like and you will find that the only difference is how it is presented the data is mostly the same.

National Weather Service/NOAA. You should have vhf (receiving) coverage for the trip and their forecasts and weather observations are good. We've done the trip twice.

All the ones mentioned plus http://www.stormsurf.com/page2/forecast/forecast/current.shtml. Yes it is for surfers, but has great long term forecasts and wind and wave maps on the "models" page.

This one is a bit different from most. I find it great for getting a good understanding of the overall weather pattern anywhere in the world.

For your trip during that time of the year, I would get a professional weather router such as Commander Weather. Historically, for Neah Bay Bouy, the wind probability >= 4 Beaufort is 73% with an average temperature of 44 degrees.

Here's a handy addition to the other sites mentioned in this thread. It is similar to earth.nullschool.net but with more options such as: Future predictions along with temperature, clouds, rain, waves, snow, pressure etc.

7 Day Wind, Wave & Tide Weather Forecasts and Live wind reports for Australia provides helpful forecasting in Australian major cities, of wind speed & direction, wave height & direction, for the coming seven days, in graph illustrated form. To the extent it disagrees with the Govt. Bureau of Meteorology, it usually proves right.

I like that site a lot too Spy. The presentation of the buoy data is quite helpful especially when matching up offshore weather predictions and subsequent real world impacts on sea state as recorded by buoys.
