The reason for me ending up on this forum is the fact that i recently purchased a 28ft "silje 28".
It is a local produced motor cruiser with a stern cabin and were fitted with either the 120 or 80hp Ford 2700-series. I have the 120hp 2715E.
For you who are reading this i think that comment directly translates into "oh he has a Lehman engine", I would have hoped that that was the case because finding parts and tips would have been far more straight forward.
In Sweden it is common for larger motor boats from the 70/80s to have for example chrysler gasoline engines, or other small block versions. The diesel engines are often Volvo pentas which of course is (was?) a swedish brand.
So my engine, the 2715E, is not a Lehman. It is a european marinized version of the standard Ford engine.
As of now the boat has been on land since 2019 and im looking to do a thorough service before firing it up. The engine was running good upon exiting the water in 2019 so i just want to make sure that im starting with a nice setup, for example in reasoning regarding the need for change the oil and transmission cooler. The more or less fresh water in the gulf of bothnia has probably not caused that much corrosion but I´ll most likely change it anyway.
