My concept of rough water must be entirely different than yours!
What features do you consider make this a great rough water design?
Tri hulls are considered one of the worst designs for anything beyond glassy lake conditions, their forte is stability at rest.
The thing offers vast windage, and is obviously top heavy, best to be in the marina if it’s gonna be rough.
Relatively speaking they are very good in rough water, especially compared to other houseboats. Houseboats don't do ocean passages.
Unlike most other houseboats, the farther they heel - the greater the righting moment. This would send most houseboats to the bottom...these guys were just having fun.
AND - the Land N Sea has positive floatation.
One of the owners of the factory related a story where folks were rescued off a Land and Sea trying to run an inlet in spite of Coast Guard warnings against it. The boat was recovered the next day on the beach, having rolled several times in the surf. They dragged it off the beach and back to the marina - the flybridge rails were the only damage - even the windows were all still unbroken.
