Greetings. We have a 50’ trawler in a Chicago harbor. We recently retired and a little more boating time is now available. Have an interest in cruising around Lake Michigan, may not all around first trip out, but maybe a partial initially and expand from there. This is our third season with this boat so pretty comfortable operation wise
Your thoughts, experiences, recommendations etc would be most appreciated!

Hi Dave. I live in Traverse, City, and cruise the GL a bit in the summers.
Lake Michigan= always fun here in TC around the 4th of July. Lots of good anchorages Boyne thunder week in Boyne City is fun and has great anchorage. Charlevoix, Manitou Islands, Door County, WI is cute:

North Channel in Lake Huron is even better than people describe
