even on a slow boat one can easily make it to Norfolk from Manasquan in seven or eight sailing days.

I could swim faster than that!! Three days is more like it.

We are leaving later than planned...loooong story. 11/1 or there abouts. Will try to hop down NJ coast in a weather window from Ambrose. We will have 4 on-board to ease watch responsibilities. And if weather continues onto Norfolk outside. Want tuck in the ICW as quick as possible and Have Absecon/Cape May/Lewes/Ocean City as a back-up.

Do not want to hang around Chesapeake Bay et al for long.

I find outside passages, weather permitting, so much easier and less stressful.
