As a consumer, we can do our bit to avoid as much plastic as possible. My wife really abhors plastic packaging and refuses to buy anything unnecessarily wrapped in plastic.
She brings her own shopping bags for groceries (as most Australians do) and buys bulk products using her own containers wherever possible. I get my butt kicked if I come home with anything wrapped in plastic.
Actually, it’s not that hard to avoid it much of the time. Do we really need to put a bunch of bananas in a separate plastic bag so they don’t touch the cauliflower in another plastic bag?
