Question. I have been working a forum titled "Luxury on a miser budget". part of the discussion is replacing 454 or any larger gas pots in larger boats such as say 40 foot Chris. with small 50-75 HP diesels. Preferably older Perkins , Volvo,Ford to keep engine cost in line with the intent of converting a full accommodations boats currently on the market due to cost of operation, with these economical engines or for a trawler speed aficionado, luxury at a slow speed.
Having given you this background, what was your speed on twins running at 1450 RPM vs. the "1 knot drop" ? As stated in the above referenced forum, there are other factors involved to achieve the goal, however knowing actual performance of a offered scenario such as you post would be interesting.
To the Chris Craft forum, I have been impressed with the technical data that has been given on several of the post. Glad you folks discovered this Forum, as I did earlier this year. Good common sense,decorum, understanding, and sharing.
