I made the trip from Long Island, NY to Ruskin last July, 1700 miles in 17 days with not even a blip mechanically. Times change so now Knot Sew Fast is for sale.
43’ Pearson Portsmouth Motoryacht/Trawler, 14’-10” beam, 3’ draft, in very good condition, and would make a great live aboard.
Vessel was converted from gas to diesel in 1981. Now has twin Perkins ST6.354.4 turbo diesels (hours unknown) that start immediately and do not smoke, with borg warner 72C velvet drives (new seals on starboard, July 2020), jack-shafted to walter v-drives. Autopilot, Glendinning engine synchronizer, and 12.5 KW Westerbeke generator with approximately 3900+hrs ( new raw water pump, new exhaust elbow, new start solenoid). 3 zones of air conditioning (New Dometic 16K BTU air conditioner (Aug. 2019) , main vacuflush system with 40 gal. holding tank with integral pump out. 20 gal., 120 volt hot water heater. 150 gal fiberglass water tank.
Four fuel tanks (aluminum), 2 forward of 118 gals. and two in engine room of 55 gals. Twin 50 amp, 125 volt dockside connections (fore and aft). 50 amp, 3 bank battery charger. 3 new 4D batteries (Sept. 2017). New Maxwell HRC-8 free drop windlass with 25’ of 5/16 chain and 200’ of 9/16 rode (Aug 2017).
New Standard Horizon GX-1300 VHF and 9” Garmin Echomap 94SV chartplotter (Aug 2017). Additional 4” Garmin chartplotter and loudhailer on board not connected. 1200 Watt inverter with internal auto transfer switch 2019.
Custom stainless steel staircase from foredeck to bridge (no ladders to climb) leading to flybridge controls under aluminum hardtop with new full enclosure (Aug 2017), with 10,000 btu freestanding A/C.
Foredeck was recored with two thicknesses of ¼” plywood in Aug 2017 (Requires minor cosmetic sanding to complete). Other small areas of upper deck recored similarly in 2019. Open deck area behind bridge is 12’ long x 15’ wide and has textaline weather cloths to surround. Dingy davits (stored on board) that connect to custom stainless supports at stern.
Prior owner refinished interior will all new wall coverings, vinyl flooring, new dinette and dinette table, wall mounted flat screen TV and new galley cabinets. Aft cabin has 1 full and 1 twin berth with new mattresses (2017). Forward compartment has upper and lower berths, separate head with manual toilet (inoperable) and electrsan system (condition unknown). Behind that are 4 additional berths (currently used for storage).
Vessel is in Ruskin, FL and very reasonably priced at $34,900.
Lots of pictures in album in my profile.
