    Shaft Keel Bushing part needed?

I need someone with knowledge of the main ship 400. There was no bearing there when the boat was inspected pre-purchase, due to the amount of barnacles in that metal insert it seems unlikely there ever was.

    Shaft Keel Bushing part needed?

Pulled the prop shaft out since engine and trans were out of alignment. Getting new cutlass bearing but is there some type of bushing or sleeve around the shaft where it comes out of the hull needed? Or is the packing/shaft seal all that is required?

    Swim Ladder

I have the new ladder from the OEM. The old ladder has been removed. It appears there was a white sealant used between the ladder mounting bracket and the swim platform. Perhaps to keep water out of the boat holes in the platform. Any suggestions on what to do to prep the swim platform for...

    Another new Owner - 400

davidla- Please let us know if you find the gyro useful at all and its behavior. I am considering a gyro (probably not!) or a washer under the MS400 companionway stairs. But really, neither are a necessity.

    Only 90V AC Shore power

UPDATE: Tested the Charles 12kVA Marine Power Isolation Transformer located in panel behind cabin closet. It doesn't seem to have any manual boost capability, no controls on it at all. -208V measure at 50A outlet on dock pedestal -210V measured at IT from Fwd 50A shore power cable connected...

    Only 90V AC Shore power

More testing Thank you all for the education on electrical issues. The wiring at the pedestal is from about 20 years ago. The main ship 400 that pulled up next to me the other day had a brand new 50 amp cable so I tried his. I still got 90 volts on my leg one and leg two. He was getting 100...

    Only 90V AC Shore power

When 50A shore power cable is connected to MS400, either forward or aft, AC panel meter shows 90V. Tried another known good cable, still 90V. Generator produces 110V+ on meter. Pedestal on dock tests at 208V. Anything I should check? Isolation transformer?

    Oven Lightbulb

Yup, the 120v E27 popped when turned on due to too much voltage. Definitely need an E27, 240V bulb. Not easy to find in US. Nothing on Amazon or any bulb website yet. Tons of 120v out there though.

    Oven Lightbulb

I have a 2008-ish Princess Gourmet 3-burner ceramic top stove and oven. Model 3347 / S/N: 652078. Mfg Code: J-07. 240V 2 wire. Just bought boat with existing burned out oven bulb = "GE Hungary H8 40W 120V 415 Lumens". Maybe it never worked as it was 120V???! Per the manual I need: E27/26 40W...

    Survey questions

I asked my surveyor, he mentioned that the hull could be surveyed on the hard. moisture should be measured and careful sounding of the hull. The ablative bottom paint should be renewed as it has been exposed to O2 for more than 3 months. Best of luck I hope to close on my new boat today!

    Bose Entertainment System

I have a newer Sonos system at home and love it. I'm buying a 2008 MT 400 with the Bose system which will be possibly used for the speakers in the salon with a new AC main unit and subwoofer. ZF85A Fluid Results from Survey

Current plan is: 1. Seller changes fluid and filter. I keep the filter for inspection later. 2. I purchase the boat with $7K held back. 3. I take the boat on the maiden voyage with new mate on 400 mile cruise to home port. 4. Resample fluid, have mechanic inspect the ZF. 5. If all is well...
