No thread on Trawler-Fest Balt. MD yet?

We will be going on Saturday. Then to the Krogen open house the following Saturday and the Annapolis show that Sunday. Then on to the Krogen Rendezvous the following weekend. Busy, but fun and educational few weeks.

Champagne Trawler Taste on a Beer Budget

I am not sure what your experience is with boats and most of the people on this forum know a heck of a lot more than me, but from what I have seen starting smaller is much better. Your mistakes will cost you a lot less on a smaller boat. Maybe you should look into getting a smaller "weekend"...

    Raised Pilothouse Models

The twin versus single screw debate was pretty much what I thought it would be, but there was very little comment on the displacement versus semi-displacement. Any of you that have full displacement hulls ever in a situation where you wished you could go faster? Or is it something you just get...

    Chestertown, MD

We haven't been there yet but it's on our list. We were hoping to do it this year but it's slipping away from us. We have anchored in Little Queenstown Creek before which is great - close to the mouth of the Chester River. You get beautiful sunsets at the channel entrance looking west over...

Jim Morris - Kent Narrows, MD

It was this past Sunday. But he is back again on August 19th.

Thanks for all the feedback. I wish I would have found this forum a long time ago. I realize that there wouldn't be any consensus on both of my questions, as there are no "right" answers. It's up to whatever each person is comfortable with. But I like hearing the opinions and sometimes it...

    Raised Pilothouse Models

I checked out the thread. I am impressed with your pictures and I am seeing some other Sea Rangers listed on the West Coast like you said. I have never heard of them, but I am intrigued. Thanks. I may have some detailed questions for you at some point if you feel like sharing.

    Raised Pilothouse Models

Thanks for the ideas. We will be looking to remain coastal, starting with the East Coast, Great Lakes, Canada, and Caribbean. If we are able to do it for more than a few years, then we may venture through the canal and do the West Coast as well. Seeing your list of ideas, I believe you have...

    Raised Pilothouse Models

As some of you know I am new here and I have an express cruiser currently, but we are looking to upgrade to a trawler in the future. Out of all the trawlers we have been on at boat shows and meeting people at marinas, we love the Defever Raised Pilothouse models. A used 49' seems perfect for...

Jim Morris - Kent Narrows, MD

Yeah, if you like Jimmy Buffett, you will most likely enjoy this guy. He comes to the Jetty 3-4 times each year and travels up and down the East Coast. He does mostly his own music, but does cover Jerry Jeff Walker some and just did an album of covers. He packs the place and puts on a great show.

Any Chesapeake Bay boaters heading to the Jetty this Sunday at Kent Narrows to see Jim Morris?

    Newbie Introduction

Hello all. Glad I found this forum as it looks like I will learn a lot here. My name is Kevin and I currently live in Baltimore but we are moving to Kent Island soon (boat is already there). Currently I have a 17' Tracker for fishing and crabbing and a 1990 31' Carver Montego. We cruise and...

    Chesapeake boaters

Thanks. I don't want to threadjack so I will try to get around to posting an introductory thread soon. The Wye River is also our favorite. We go there a lot. There is an unnamed cove about 2 coves before Dividing Creek (on the elbow) that we typically anchor in. Can't wait to set the hook.

If you enjoy marinas, Herrington Harbour could be a fun trip. We went to the North marina 2 weekends ago with 4 teenagers and had a good time. I understand that the South marina is even better but they were fully booked. Plenty to do, restaurant, pet friendly, and beautiful. It would be about...
