What are you on that is burning that? Sounds thrilling. Like I said, somehow people took me saying I'd take somebody out for an afternoon if they sprang for $100 as me offering others $100. I did not.

There is that $100 again. LOL! I said I would take somebody out for $100 for an afternoon, not that anybody else would or should. I get it. $100 is what? 20-25 gallons of diesel? 25 gallons of diesel would run my boat for about 20-25 hours. An afternoon is 5 hours.

You pretty much got it. It wasn't exactly meant for those that have a big circle of friends and family either. I was more looking for somebody that has his boat tied to the dock tomorrow because he doesn't have anybody to go out with, or is waiting for the first of the month for his...

Harry, I have never heard of the Pickwick Lake/TN river area. But I'd like to know more. Anything you can tell me would be appreciated!

I guess I was really hoping to find a retired person near Galveston,TX that doesn't get to take their boat out as much as they like because of financial reasons, or life changing reasons (divorce, loss of spouse etc.) that I could come meet, get to know, pal around with, help them get out...

I didn't say "I only want to spend $100", where did you get that from the original post? I said share expenses. How much expenses would actually be the boat owners decision.

    On your boat...

I have fond memories of my time in Maryland and on the Chesapeake Bay. I had a Sea Ray Weekender 26 I kept in Pasadena while I was there. Nothing like a day on the bay topped off with a half a bushel of Crab with friends. That's also where I learned to sail and bought my first 2 sailboats...

    Composting toilet experiences?

We are looking at this one. This portable is attractive and battery operated. It states it is good for about 56 flushes. How may people will you have aboard and how long will you be out? https://www.hodgesmarine.com/Thetford-Porta-Potti-565e-Curve-Portable-Toilet-p/the92306.htm?click=39123

Thanks for your input. I really did learn a lot from it.

That is understandable, but there is a world of difference between somebody asking to take your boat out and somebody asking you to take them out on your boat. Asking to take your boat out would be a serious "no go".

    Will do. Thanks.

Great idea. Thanks. That's the kind of info I was seeking.

As a Tank Commander on M60 series Tanks we had a crew of 4 in about the size of a Honda Civic for weeks and months at a time. It's not that hard to get along.

Well, I would also have the option of not going with somebody I didn't like either. ; )

But $500-800 I can see spending. $5000 or more is not going to happen.

I would LOVE that, but my adult daughter is coming from Germany and October this year is just booked back to back for us. Will you be making the return trip in the spring? Could you send me (or I send you?) an email and we could really hash out the details? And the signed agreement would only...

Well, I can sand, paint and my carpentry skills and mechanical abilities are above average. Lunch is on me!

Better person? No. Did I say that or did you? I will say that people that spent their life in the military are usually pretty open and learn to read people quickly. We had to make friends fast and sometimes lose friends even faster. Do I pick up hitch hikers? Not that often, but I do very...

Now $500-800 a day for actual training with a professional is something I could go for. I like training. Who do I contact for that?

Yes, Mena is land locked, but the highway leads right down to Galveston. I do feel some are over thinking my question, and making more of it than it is, but y'all gotta' live and do what ya' gotta' do. If I ever do get my boat and somebody innocently asks a similar question just tell them...

Did I say "feed my animals"? I said raise Lowline Angus Cattle. There is a difference and it takes about 20 years to learn it all. Kind of like a boat, unless somebody takes a liking to you and teaches you.

    On your boat...

Teaching people what I know is one of my greatest pleasures in life. Until just a couple months ago if one of you knocked on my door and said "I couldn't help but notice you have about 60 of the nicest Black Lowline Angus cows in your pasture. Could you teach me to raise them?" and I would...

It's not like I've never had a boat. Heck, I've even taking Power Boat Courses in Baltimore back in 1990. I've had 4 sail boats 16-26 ft. 2 small motorboats with out board motors. 2 pontoon boats 22 and 25 feet. 2 26ft power boats on with an outboard and the other an I/O. And until last...
