    Headliner material

I purchased a few yards of the perforated padded vinyl from sailrite - matches me existing 40-yo headliner and installs easily. They have it without padding as well.

Caution bad surveyer in San Francisco Bay Area

I would suggest you have a discussion on what to “expect of a surveyor and what to use as a survey agreement/checklist”, instead of blaming the surveyor for a regrettable purchase decision. Did he/she fail to disclose any material defects that should have been detected or was there some other...

    Wooden Frame for Electrical Box

I bought some of the ones on ebay and they are fine, well finished, but not fine artisan craftsmanship. But for the money And time I would not bother trying to make my own.

    Name change

If I recall correctly there are several boats with the same name and hailing port as mine in San Francisco. Just examples... Sorry don’t mean to be opposed to your knowledge on this but uniqueness does not seem to be required

    Name change

Documented boat name and hailing ports are not required to be unique, and all prior names are still carried on the USCG documentation record. I believe even the certificate of documentation might carry the old name(s)-have to check mine.

    Reducing hydraulic steering gear-ratio ?

I noticed last week that my helm has an adjustment knob under the destroyer wheel hub labeled “more turns <-> less turns”. I had assumed it was just a tension adjustment , have not tried it. Possibly adjusting fluid volume to change steering ratio? If so it’s clever - my boats a 1978 Taiwan...

How can I add labels for switches

You might find that Blue Sea can't provide any custom labels at this time and your only choice is to buy a label set from a distributor with old stock. I believe that their label maker equipment was part of the fire that destroyed their main warehouse and headquarters in Bellingham...

    Bay Area marinas

Hi Jim Looks like we live in the same zip-code. My boat is in Westpoint. It’s a convenient distance from home but a long haul up to the central bay. But it’s an almost brand new marina with nice harbormaster and great amenities. It has shoaling problems and getting in or out a low tide can...

    LLC question...

I have never looked into an LLC in California for property ownership, but in this state you pay an $800 annual fee (tax) on top of any other taxes just for the privilege of having one.

    shunt with 4 posts

From the docs if you confirmed that power is applied on the sense module and there is no LED then the sense module is probably defective. But I would still confirm a) it's got power on the #3/4 terminals with a voltmeter and polarity is correct, and b) the terminal block is seated properly in...

    shunt with 4 posts

It appears that the Magnum BMK sense module that you have is only designed monitor a single bank and your boat has at least two banks. https://www.magnum-dimensions.com/file/2224/download?token=52U1pe-- It also looks like your shunts are incorrectly wired. One side of each shunt should be...

Nut welded to Valve Cover - Lehman 120-6

Why is there a nut welded to my Lehman 120 valve cover, and all the valve covers in other 120 pictures I’ve seen? Here between the vent and the oil cap

Anyone had a broken window happen randomly?

I had a windshield crack spontaneously but it didn't shatter. If yours is tempered glass it probably took a pretty big whack to shatter.

    Open neutral while on inverter

I also wanted to be able to bypass my inverter and completely isolate it on both hot and neutral legs. In the prior configuration the shore power was routed to the shore/gen switch which then switched it to the panel main input. The Inverter was always in the path of shore or gen power. I have...
