Truth! "Before the internet, everyone was as batshit as now but thought most other ppl *weren't* batshit, so most acted as non-batshit as they could. Once we could all see how batshit everyone else was, we gave up the old charade & now aspire to maximum batshittery."

Today is the happiest day in my boating life

Oh, it would definitely have to be the C-Dory Angler, not the Cruiser. According to David, it sound like it's going to be too small for what I want. Bummer. It would be easy to tow with my truck and less pricey than a Parker 25. I wish there was a C-Dory 25 Angler!

Today is the happiest day in my boating life

Definitely keep us informed of your search. I'm in the same situation. I like the looks of the C-Dory 22 Angler and the Parker 25 Sport Cabin. I've had an opportunity to get on the Parker, but not the C-Dory. After a number of years with Moon Dance, a MT 34, I now understand how I'll use the...

This might seem like a weird topic.

When I told the ex that I had bought a trawler, she said, "I thought you were a sailor, not a power boat type". I said that I wanted a bigger boat but didn't want to fool with bigger sails. And the trawler is not a loud, go-fast boat. It's fat, old and slow. She says, "Oh, just like you!"...

    Boat books, fiction

I think he may have picked up some some Alfred T. Mahan too. In the "The Influence of Sea Power Upon History", the part dealing with French Admiral Suffren's Indian Ocean campaign read almost like O'Brian's work. Or, maybe it too was straight out of the logs. Over the years I've read the...

    Is it just for show?

Were you driving a Prius or another hybrid? Apparently, they are favorite targets of Rolling Coal. And bicyclists and liberal protestors too. I didn't know this was a "thing" until there was an attempt to pass a law outlawing it in MD.

    Is it just for show?

I think you want those big stacks so you can do some "rolling coal" too. A good bit of over-fueling is, I suppose, how they do it.

One more for the Irish: The mother-in-law arrives home from shopping to find her son-in-law, Paddy, in a steaming rage and hurriedly packing his bags "What happened Paddy?" she asks anxiously. "What happened? I'll tell you what happened! I sent an e-mail to my wife telling her I was...

    Clearwater

Just Clearwater Beach. I was trapped in a conference room and evening events from 8AM to 8PM. My wife hung out at the pool! But we did tack on a few extra days after the conference. I'm starting to peel from the sunburn now. Beautiful area. Yeah, I'd live there if I could.

Oh, I was just joshing. I know the attraction, just can't afford the ticket of $600k-$700k if I want to retire any time soon. I live on the water now, the Chesapeake for half that. It ain't Florida, but it ain't bad either. This is the view from my deck ... and my "office."

I was recently in Florida for a week long corporate off-site event. A few of the local employees are trying to recruit me to relocate to there. I wonder what the attraction is? It certainly wasn't the "You can pick up a nice place, that has already been rehabbed, for only $600k-$700k."...

Have Chevy Trucks Forsaken The White Collar Men?

It's back! https://www.ford.com/trucks/ranger/2019/ The Ranger is the perfect size for me. Big enough to haul yard and boat stuff. Small enough to maneuver like a sedan. I'm on my 3rd one. The first, actually a Mazda B2000, eventually rusted away, the second was t-boned and rolled...
