    Mark 1 HIN location

If its under the engine then it's not happening. I will check a few places but I was hoping for under a clear or rug etc.

    Mark 1 HIN location

My Hin is very clear on the transom but it appears to be a mistake. Everything I have for documents have MPC... but the transom has MCP... it looks original and not altered. Boats should have it embedded in two places . one is easily viewed and second is hidden. I just don't know where.

    Mark 1 HIN location

So I am running into issues with my hin number and wondering where the 2nd hin number is located? Has anyone found it? Currently the Hin starts with MCP and Mainship is normally MPC .

    Cat 3208 raw water pump

I never heard of a pump having aluminium parts either but I can see why they discontinue it. It was an early gen pump on the 3208.

    Cat 3208 raw water pump

Well i think i may have the solution. I purchased two used pumps from FB marketplace. one is the Sherwood P176-02 and the second is the Jabsco 777 The Jabsco has both a pulley and mounting bracket so its an easy fit. The Sherwood has fittings and a pulley. Both i seem to see cross references to...

    Cat 3208 raw water pump

So I removed my raw water pump to clean and replace the impeller and discovered the housing of the bearings is broken. Its Aluminum and corrosion took its toll. It's the cat 4N6582 (Jabsco 17350-0011) . Unfortunately its discontinued as is most parts. Anyone have suggestions on replacing?

    Are the stands mine?

Well I decided it's not worth the time to dispute the stands so I bought my own. The old stands were not in great shape so I told the former owner to take them. Lesson learned to put it in writing.

    Drain plug

I'm thinking it may not have been as bad with the original motor but this has a Cat 3208 and its pretty big so it may be longer. I am considering adding a 2nd in the back near the stuffing box

    Drain plug

Well I found it inside. I think its next to impossible to remove. I can see the outside flange but it's under my transmission.

    Mainship fuel tank material

My dad had a 93 sedan Bridge 40 that had an aluminum tank as does my 79 Mark 1

    Are the stands mine?

You are correct... my dad has been at the yacht club for 40 years and he has never seen a boat sold there that didn't include the stands but it was my bad to assume they were included.

    Are the stands mine?

In the grand scheme of things the stands are cheap. If the guy was an active boater and planned on buying a different boat I would not think much about it but he has not been active for 18 years. I don't want to create waves by making a big deal with the previous owner about the stands so I am...

    Are the stands mine?

The boat I bought was laid up since 2003 on the stands and if all goes well I think I can bring it back from its hibernation. I did pay more than many told me it was worth so I didn't want extra costs buying stands but if I buy some I will buy newer with less rust. I'm sure he plans to sell them...

    Are the stands mine?

To be honest i think the guy wanted more money than i paid for the boat and I think its his way of a shake down. Well I hope he likes his 30 year old rusty stands because I would have let them go if i was selling.
