I don't need a diagram but it would help for sure. The wiring is pretty basic on this boat but also does not really come close to todays standards. I am also finding a few somewhat questionable techniques so mapping it out would help.

So an update on my SFR 1000 filter. I have used it as a polishing setup and it works fine for that. No leaks no issues yet. I don't think I will use it as a filter on my boat but so far I don't see any issues. The workmanship is not as good as Racor but for my polishing operation it works well.

So I got all the hoses replaced! I would have taken pictures but it's so tight in there I didn't think it would work well. I used 148 hose and a heat gun. It made it more pliable. I don't forsee these replaced again. Thanks for all the tips... many helped.

I think there are pluses and minuses to both. Energize to run has the benefit that if it fails it stops but if the electrical system fails it's also stops. The energize to stop will keep running even if the electrical fails. But if the solenoid fails it won't shut down. I have pulled the wire...

That makes sense to me. I figured if it had a separate lift pump I would at least have a spare on hand but I don't plan on rebuilding the injection pump unless it starts acting up.

my gut feeling is he bought the boat and it was registered to the previous owner in NH or in MA but it was beyond title dates back then and he did not want to pay Mass sales tax so he either registered it in Maine, NH or VT and lost it. or did not want to admit that he did not pay the sales tax.

I do plan on replacing hoses. I think they are original. And look to be in good shape but I have read up on many of the coolant types and the newer ELC is more rubber friendly also so that's the plan. Drain, Flush and replace hoses, thermostat and new ELC.
