    Seeking steering response and stability

Measure the diameter of the clevis pin and use a drill bit a hair larger?

    Seeking steering response and stability

I had the same issue. 6 turns lock to lock. A bad day on the water with nasty following seas requiring constant turning of the wheel to stay on course and avoid broaching convinced me I wanted less lock to lock. Have an older Australian Hydrive unit that has no adjustment capability to do this...

    Seakeeper 2 for 27’ to 32’ boats

At $22,700 plus installation I think I'll pass for now. If it were $5,000 I'd be tempted.

    Finally!

Also, be sure that there is not too much fluid in the unit. On my Hydrive unit, the instructions say to only fill to the shaft level otherwise it WILL leak past the seals. Just the same, my upper helm leaks even if filled to the proper level in roughish seas when there is a whole lot of helm...

    Same planet different world (superyacht)

If you don't want the expense and hassle of maintenance, just charter her. Only "from Euro 477,000 /wk".

    Columbia River Cruise

Can't help with the OP's original questions but we did that trip (including going up the Snake in jet boats) several years ago on a Lindblad Expedition ship. Definitely an interesting trip to do.

    Raw Water Impeller Shaft Lube

Didn't the OP say "rubber impeller"? And if not rubber but Neoprene, is there a reason one should one not use grease?

    Raw Water Impeller Shaft Lube

From Tony Athens: "When installing a new impeller, throw out all that crap about lubing – Use any common white lithium grease (or similar grease) and life becomes easy for all." https://www.sbmar.com/articles/tricks-tips-to-extract-and-remove-an-impeller/

Where old zincs go after death

I use a little Loctite Blue on the the zinc threads and change the zincs annually. No problems with stray zincs.

Funny to this person of anglo saxon heritage, even if it puts me as the one on the beach.

    Seagulls on Bimini

That's what we have used for the past few years on our Bimini with good, although not perfect, results. Get one (or more) with a radius sufficient to overhang the sides. The buggers will land on any small exposed area. We also use Bird B Gone bird spikes on the radome, installed with high...

A guy walks into a bar with an octopus. He sits the octopus down on a stool and tells everyone in the bar that this is a very talented octopus. So talented that he can play any musical instrument in the world. He hears everyone in the crowd...

TF Gathering in SE Florida 2018

Just keep the noise down so we can sleep in Longboat Key for the next two nights. Have to rest up for our imminent road trip back to the frozen NE. Hold this rendezvous a week earlier next year please so it fits into our rental dates. I'm bummed that we couldn't have met FlyWright and some of...

    IG32 Europa trucking height

The bridge is not removable. You'd have to sawzall. Would be an awful job to do and reconstruct. If i recall correctly, it's 16' 2" from keel to top of bridge minus windscreen. One of the downsides of the IG32 Europa for us as we can't move her over the roads to our house for winter layup as...
