My brother in law has one in NH. Outboard motor. He likes it for day cruising around Great Bay (or whatever its called). For overnights, he has something quite bit larger.

One word of caution on using Flitz. It does contain abrasives. I used it for 30 years on an old Seth Thomas clock and barometer that I inherited, which were evidently brass plated, not solid. Eventually, the plating wore thin. The clock maker who told me the clock was not worth repairing when...
Powder coat is great, and the way I'd go now. But on our last boat, before I "discovered" powder coating, I prepped, primed and painted our searchlight white. Cheap and easy and re-painting when needed is no big deal. Looked good, unless you need the shiny bling.
Have had a different experience with the Pettit Prop Coat here in Downeast waters. Before I started using it three years ago, there would be an extended family of barnacles on our prop on fall haul out. Since I started using it, have had almost nothing on the prop on haul out.
We have a policy with Traveler's with an agreed value of $165k with all those bells and whistles with a premium of $1,200. Boat US gave us a quote last year of about $2,400 for the same coverage.
I absolutely love wooden boats. But after owning and maintaining this one for 23 years I had had enough. If either: a) I had enough money to pay a yard to maintain her or b) I had the energy that I had 30 years ago to maintain her myself, then I would still have her.
Be very, very careful what you wish for. Once you enter you may wish you hadn't. Some have gone there out of curiosity and never returned the same.
