Hi there. I have the galleymaid oven. My bottom element quit and I replaced it with one from an appliance repair place. While it works, it won't get over 325 degrees. Did you find that the replacement worked well? Thanks for any reply Mike Schapansky Waypoint League City TX

While I won't have a boat for 2 more days, the one I'm getting has a deionizer water system. The owner just sprays the boat down with it after a run. No spots. no scrubbing or wiping. https://www.amazon.com/Go-Spotless-Portable-Dual-Deionizer/dp/B00KVPO21C

    49 Defever bilge bulge

Thank you all very much for your replies. All very helpful. I finally was able to contact Mr. Wilson Lin of the Pocta yard in Taiwan. He described the construction of the keel apparently the yard would typically throw in any left over scraps of fiberglass, cut bits that couldn't otherwise be...

    49 Defever bilge bulge

Survey day today. Surveyor found a bulge in the fiberglass at the bottom of the forward bilge where the holding tank is. It’s about 6 inches wide by 9 feet long. Extends from the tank to the engine room bulkhead. It’s full of brown water which we think is resin colored. It doesn’t smell like...

What boats did you grow up with?

from syjos : re: the El Toro. I had forgotten about this! Another friend had an El Toro sail boat. We used to "cruise" Lake Vasona in Los Gatos Ca. One of the first times I got to steer it we sank! Great fun. I remember getting whacked in the head more than a few times coming about.

What boats did you grow up with?

My childhood friend's Dad had a 30 something Chris Craft. Hardly ever took it out but we went many weekends so he could work on it and Patrick and I would take the tender and go cat fishing and exploring. Later on my now ex-wife's Mom and step dad had a 28 foot sloop. We went on many day...
