I have tried to find the history of the company and if they are still in business but can not find anything. Would love to know more about the company. Anyone else found anything.

1987 Maple Bay for sale $42,000. Erie Canal New York State

I really like that boat. Would love to hear from others who have owned a Maple Bay Trawler. Looks like it would be a good boat for the PNW.

    Removing anchor roller pin...not happening!

For anything that hasn't been removed in a while and is possibly rusted, as tilrider1 said, heat is your friend. I have worked on cars, not professionally, for years and anytime a bolt or nut won't budge, heating almost always will helps free it up, almost always.

    Sealing Railing Stanchions

I have added cleats using this method and it seems to work great. Chris https://marinehowto.com/bed-it-tape/

    East coast to Ak?

Another option not discussed here often is to get as big of a trailerable boat as you can. Start a cross country trip and visit inland lakes and rivers on the way. Use the boat as a RV when you are dirt traveling and not on the water. There are an abundant number of cruising inland lakes that...

    Bad Trailer Failure

Crux, I have been thinking about that. Going to have to find a boat trailer place that can do that. Thanks Chris

    Bad Trailer Failure

Update. Looks like I will not need a new axle. I have purchased new brake unit and new hub. Unfortunately the new hub’s rear bearing is too small. Having it replaced locally with another bearing. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Chris

    Bad Trailer Failure

Interesting enough I went to a large trailer location that does mostly horse trailers and they couldn’t help.

    Bad Trailer Failure

1974 Tolly on a two axle trailer. Had a complete failure of one of my wheels bearings. There was nothing left (bearings) in the hub. When I jacked up the trailer the wheel and the hub fell right off. (I feel lucky it stayed on) Was able to remove everything and limp it home on three wheels. I...

New OR Members Planning Great Loop Adventure

If you could compromise on size consider getting something like a Ranger Tug, 31 foot, with a trailer, and then you could use it in the PNW. Then simply truck it or have it trucked, at a much lower cost, than a larger 36-40 foot boat. But it would be a cost of space. I have thought about doing...

    Anyone seen Competitive Docking?

That looks cool. So it is a boat race using lobster boats. I couldn’t find how far they race. Is it a short or long race?

    Bow or Stern Thruster

I have these on our 26 Tolly. They are easy to install, are plenty powerful and do not require adding batteries. They are self contained. The draw back to them is you have periodically run the charger to them. They can be easily removed and charged. For your size boat I believe these would...
