Which sealent is best to re-bed the teak trim

GB36 woodie, I’d like to remove the teak trim that runs along the deck against the house walls clean up the area and reinstall. Previous owners just keep applying caulk and in some spots used screws that were too long and came through the interior wall a bit.

I’m a new owner and don’t know much about marine caulking and rebidding.

Mr. G. Multiple applications of caulking by PO's suggests an attempt to control leakage. Remove the trim and be prepared to fix leaks. Depending on the type and severity, I would suggest thickened epoxy after cleaning out any voids you find.
Hopefully they did NOT use any silicone products as this would probably make repairs much more difficult IMO.

Can't suggest manner of reattachment as I'm not familiar with GB.
