Patricia and I recently finished moving our trawler from Mississippi to Kemah Texas. A couple of friends joined us on the trip and both of them took some great pictures I wanted to share with the forum in a few posts. These shots begin in New Orleans and end up near Houma Louisiana. We traveled a few miles up the Mississippi River and locked into the Harvey Lock (mile 0 on the GIWW)- where we continued west. There are a few pictures of some of the industry we have in the area, including a yacht being finished at Trinity Yachts. We were instructed by DHS to "clutch ahead" as three of these guys boarded our vessel and checked us out just East of Houma. I had to ask the officer what that meant :)
Kathleen treated us that night to a wonderful layered cheese mold- just one of several preplanned dishes that was enjoyed by all. *It was a great trip-

These pics are from Houma, through Morgan City and on to Shell Morgan In Intracoastal City for the night. Near GIWW miles 80-85 we saw between 25 and 35 bald eagles!! Apparently they are making quite a comeback and I read where this area is a popular nesting place. Wallace Bayou is in the same area- a beautiful old growth cypress swamp. I also have a shot of Galley Mike at the helm. We visited with George Danner at Shell Morgan. He was on his way to Gulf Shores and is a writer for Waterway Guides.
