I have a Marine trader build in 1973. One of my bow facing portholes has a small leak. It is not the glass and I believe it is from the housing. Possibly the gasket but not really sure. I tried searching for information but I have not found anything relevant.

Has anyone fixed this or know of what it will take to remove the porthole and replace gasket? Or any other thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Greetings,
Mr. k. We had a 1974 MT at one point and as I vaguely recall removal of a port was quite straight forward. Simply remove the screws from the inner flange and carefully pry off. That being said, the MT's from that era had as many differences as similarities so YOUR ports may not be the same as what we had. Before you remove anything, try to find a replacement gasket. Again, differences in ports and gasket profiles apply.

In the mean time you might try using some butyl tape added to the existing gasket to stop the leak as a TEMPORARY fix. You probably won't be able to readily open the port.
