So I got a question for you. This is the style of my packing gland on my prop shaft. I need to adjust one of the glands a bit and I am wondering how to loosen this lock nut and then tighten the gland nut.
In most other glands that I can find information on the nuts are both “regular” eight sided and can be loosened with wrenches. Do you think I just chase this nut with a punch? Do I need to get two pipe wrenches in to grab the "nubs". (This could be really difficult due to space available.)
