Hi you all

We have a trawleryacht, namen Kyra. She is 20 meters, steel and powered with a DAF 1160
We are rebuilding the inside, outside has to be repainted.
She is a sound ship what has been neglegtic by the previous owners.

In a couple of months we will becoming live aboarders

We are Jurgen en Wicky and we live in the Netherlands and are busy to get her going again, lost of work and lost of fun.

Welcome aboard. The boat has lovely lines and looks a very practical layout. We would love to see some inside pics, even though you are not finished. Then you can show the after restoration pics later..? More views of the outside also. It is pretty easy to post photos on here.

My wife and I were just in your lovely country on our motorcycle. We think it's a fantastic place especially if you have a boat. The Kyra looks to be a very nicely designed yacht. Good luck with the restoration.

Congrats. she looks very nice. Where was she built?

She is from a dutch designer 'de jong ITSC' this is the third one, build in 1998. We are the fourth owners. The ones before did not do a very good job, that is why we are stripping her to the hull again and than building her up from nothing. We have her now for four weeks and made some progress in stripping. Sadly we blowed the battery bank of 950 ah up in the progress. But we learned a couple of things from the incident ;-)
She is going to a wharf in a couple of weeks to do the outside. We where first thinking of doing that ourself but that is a bit out of our league.

I looked at many boats in the Netherlands the last few years as i love the design, but ultimately, found the prices still to high.

Your boat looks lovely and i like the yellow stripe.

Hello all, thanks for the warm welcome! Today we had are last battle with the interior! And we won! Probably there are still pockets of interior looming in the dark but we will find them. One can not imagine how much interior one can build in a boat. Now the big cleanup is starting, and in that time we are starting to make the drawings for the build up. We have the ideas for what we will, big heads and bedroom in the front and a office in the aft, and the salon and kitchen upstairs. Because we are going to live aboard we dealing with it as a house and not as a boat, thats why we don't get other sleeping quarters or more heads because the taking a lot of space which one is not using on a daily basis. Guests will sleep on a fold away bed and will use our heads.
If the plans are there I will post them.

Welcome aboard. Beautiful boat! Lots of labor ahead, but sounds as if it will be a labor of love, and that is absolutely the best kind.

We moved the boat to Weesp so we can be start with the steel preparations before we paint the ship.

Started working at the rear side of the boat. One hatch on deck removed and the steel wall were the lazarette was removed.
