My Garmin 5212 screen is failing, and I found a replacement. The problem: the replacement has screw on connections and my cable has the old quick connect. Is possible to cut the quick connect collar from my cable and replace it with the newer split collar on my cable? Has anyone done this? I've reached out to Garmin and got nowhere. I don't want to buy a new cable and rewire it.
I use Navionics and AquaMap on my iPad but my 5212 is still needed for other applications.
