I would like to thank all those who responded to my earlier posts on the engine issue. The engine will be replaced with a Beta 85hp model once the tug gets to Buffalo NY.
There are to many issues with this 64 year old Ford engine that we have no history about it. We may move the boat by truck and have delivered to our yard next to our headquarters.
The tug boat was built in 1965 as a pleasure cruiser that looks like a tug. Originally powered by steam and converted to the Ford engine in the mid 1970’s
The engine was 16 years old when installed and is now 64 years old.
We need a reliable tug to move our 73 foot long Erie Canal boat that we are building in Buffalo with a launch date of May 2024.
