I know that a good many of you may have an iPhone.* I found this site searching battery replacement.* And yes, YOU CAN replace an iPhone battery, and touch screen and power button......!* They also have a very interesting philosophy on fixing stuff.* Kind of like most of the folks on this forum:

Speaking of phone batteries I had a cell phone which would not take a charge. brought it to the dealer they said the battery was shot not worth replacing. Later that day I cleaned up the battery connections with a pencil eraser. it started working fine and has for about a year now.
I had a similar experience with a chart chip for the GPS the GPS manufacturer told me the chip was probably damaged and I would need a new one. I called the chip manufacturer they suggested using an eraser on the contacts and it solved the problem.
Probably in both cases being on the boat near salt water caused more corrosion than usual.

Same thing happened to me 3 days ago. I just removed the battery and immediately
put it back in. It's been working fine.

Just FYI....pulling batteries on these phones does more than just...remove the battery. It causes a true reboot of all systems so sometimes the simple act of pulling the battery can solve problems you may be having.
