I am selling my 1979 Fairchild Scout 30. The boat is hull number 2 from Fairchild Marine in San Diego, CA. Al all fiberglass tribute to the Lake Union Dreamboat form the 1920's it allows a lucky owner to have a really special headturner with out the hassle of wooden boat ownership. This boat spents it's life on the Commodore's mooring off the Newport Harbor Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California. I have a custom 3 axle trailer that it traveled on to Florida. The boat can be towed with a pick up or Suburban with 10,000 tow package. The boat is in very good original condition with some substantial systems updates. Repowered with a Yanmar 40HP diesel installed new in 2001. Approx 300 hours run time. In the last year all the house water system was totally renewed. Hoses, pump, waterheater, faucets were replaced. The bilge was totally cleaned and painted. A PSS Dripless shaft seal and new coupling are installed. New batteries. All external wood stripped and refinished in Cetol gloss. Bottom sanded smooth and ready for paint. Fuel tanks cleaned and inspection ports installed. All new sound deadening installed in engine compartment. This boat has full standing headroom with a beautiful mahogany trimmed classic look below. The boat will cruise quietly at 7 knots burning about 2/3 gal .of diesel per hour. Max is about 9 knots if you need to fight a foul current. I am currently rebuilding the windshield structure and reinstalling the engine. Need to seell as I have relocated to the West Coast. The boat is in a covered warehouse in Palatka, Florida. Storage could be continues here or tow her anywhere there is a decent roat in North America. Boat weighs about 9000lbs. and trailer has a 21,000 lb capacity so very over built. Call me at 561-301-7885 if interested. $30,000 as is now....$$40,000 when finished.
