Engine Hours/Tachometer Gauge

I just noticed that my engine hour meter has stopped turning.* All the other gauges, including the tachometer that shares the same gauge, work fine.* This is the Cummins 220HP engine.
Is there a transponder (?), or other part, on the engine somplace that may need replacement?

Call Charles Nichols at VSI, Inc. 336-273-2881. They repair those things. Mine was a VDO and did the same thing. It's some little gear(s) inside that need replacement. He will even set it to the correct hours if you want him to.
