I was hoping that somebody can point me in the right direction. I have an unknown make/brand thruhull depth sounder in my wood hull that I want to replace with a RaySonics unit that I have. My question is** can the RaySonice unit work with the Hummingbird head unit that I have?* Transducer mdl 201 Hummingbird mdl 400tx

I find a depth sounder pretty useless for inshore cruising , by time it lets you know there is no water , the boat lifting has passed the same info, for free.

However a bit further out, to way out, a RECORDING depth sounder is a great part of the nav gear.

Its called contour nav , and is easy, accurate and cant be shut down by dicktat or North Korea or Iran at their whim.

If you contact Airmar and give them all of the information you have they can probably tell you if they are compatible. Airmar makes the transducers for almost every depth sounder manufacturer. Some are compatible and some are not.
