I notice a lot of boats do the Bahamas each year for their cruising.
Wondering if for these peoples it makes sense to have your boat registered here?
Living in the Bahamas and having purchased a Bahamian registered vessel I see how cheap it is.
The cost for registration is $100 a year.
Cruising permit for a year in the states is about $100.
So does it make sense for some people to register here?
Can you dual register a vessel?
Import duty was /is only 10% but now there is also 7.5% VAT.
Insurance is also no different as we are insured with a US company and we are covered for the Bahamas all year round.
Just not up to date on the laws these days for foreign flagged vessels "cruising" in the US.
