The original cigarette lighter type charger cable for my West Marine VHF85 (aka Uniden MHS75) radio became frayed and was replaced by a new DC85. Some time later all of the cigarette lighter "ports" aboard were replaced by higher output USB ports. I still use the AC adapter (basically a plug in cigarette lighter), but it is really a clunky solution.
I have a drawer full of 12 volt power supplies and this radio and charger are used on a 12 volt boat, so it doesn't seem too far of a stretch to replace the cigarette lighter end with either a different type of 12 volt connector like the DC5521 on my Bluetti power station, or one of the 12 AC adapters I have collected over the years.
According to my meter, the red and black wires are +12 VDC and -12 VDC respectively, but I can find only speculation and unrelated answers about the blue and white wire functions. Anyone know?
