    Ghaaaaa!!! Rocna Anchors

...And you will see more and more of them! As ugly as they are... They stick right where you drop them and dig in hard "That's important in tight anchorages" I've never reset it?

    question: gelcoat buffer polisher

Bingo! semi-planing has I right !.The real advantage to me with this Harbor freight buffer is, it weighs almost 1/3 of what the Makita , Dewalt do. You can swing this buffer all day long and your arms wouldn't fall off! and does just as good or better job. These boats are too big to be...

    holes in bilge (not limber)

I notice that later in the season my keel fills with water and maybe its my imagination but the boat seems more stable. Should I keep this filled with water ? Will bleach(to prevent alge) damage the glass?

If You Could Only Have One Anchor What Would It Be?

I've delivered lot of different boats and had CQRs and a bruce's before and I thought these "Roll bar" anchors were just a gimmick (How could it be that different). But last spring. I bought a boat and it had a 22 Rocna (44lb)with an all chain rode (WOW). If you want to sleep well on the hook...

The guys at Jamestown distributors were raving about it. Requires only four coats ,recoatable in 45min with little or no sanding, easy to repair .I...

    False Bilge?

Our boat appears to have a keel cavity with a small plug under the shaft, behind the transmission. I dropped a hose down and pumped out a few cups of water last fall when I winterized. Its probably 2-3 feet deep. How much effect would water ballast have on the boats stability ? Would I loose...

    Re: deliberate overpropping

To over prop a new boat is so dumb! Its just to decieve potential buyers, so they think the boats faster than it is, plain and simple! Then you load all your gear ,dinghys davits ,tops arches, full tanks , electronics ect... It woun't show up right away...but you will do "serious damage" to some...

canvas question for those in sunny climates

Bad low light visibility! Visibility is too important a safty issue in navigation, for you and other boaters around you! Strataglass came out with darker tints about ten years ago and sold like hotcakes, but proved impractical except for maybe lower aft areas. Even at dusk or on a dark overcast...

    my best storm anchor technique

Chain,chain,chaaain... The harder it blows the more important the chain is ! most of these anchors will dig and hold fine, if there the right size. But they have to be pulled across the bottom almost horizontally "Not on an upward angle!" ,thats where the weight of the chain is so important...
