Anybody run little Bahama bank at night?

we have run from Stuart at night and crossed onto the banks north of memory rock; no problem at all. Usually spent the afternoon and next night at Great Sale or Grand before heading to GT.

    32'/34' trawlers that do 15kts?

32 Albin Yes that is the boat. The first ones came with the 250; it was under powered and only made 12 kts. Mine had the 300 and, later the 350 (same engine; different turbo) and I was very pleased with the speed and the economy. I ran it from NY to FL in 98; at speed (16) all the way. It took...

    32'/34' trawlers that do 15kts?

16 kts. For 22 years we owned a 32 Albin Sportfish. While not exactly a "trawler" that is what we used her for. Cruises on Long Island Sound; to FL and back; and the Bahamas. She cruised easily at 16 kts. burning 8 GPH and 10 GOPH towing a 16 foot center console. We often cruised at hull speed...

    Rideau waterway

We are planning a Rideau waterway trip this summer; and would like to borrow and/or purchase used paper charts for the area. I hate to buy new ones, as we will probably only make this trip one time. Any help appreciated. Jim Persson Bay Shore, NY

Pictures just don't do it justice.....

I found the GC to be almost a religious experience. It is always so crowded; yet as the throngs of tourists approach the rim for the first time; they fall silent...they are so in awe of what they are seeing>

    Potties

replaced all hoses last year and am putting a vent filter on this year. Biggest complaint is odors from the vent circulating around the outside of the boat after flushing (I always use fresh water). The vent filter should help; I am asking about the best product to control odors in the tank...

    East coast FL surveryor

EXCELLENT surveyor in Ft. Laud. named Kurt Merolla. Extremely thorough and i', sure he will travel to Melbourne. Best Cummins people I have dealt with from NY to FL are the guys in Stuart FL. Can't remember the name; but they are associated with Whittaker boats. Excellent and very honest. Jim...

Has any one had good experience with any products for use in waste holding tanks. I'm not fond of the stuff sold in West marine. Any good reports? Jim

    RF's?

Ours is a 99 LSV repowered in 07 with twin Suzuki 90 HP outboards. Wed paid in the low 40's 2 years ago; but had to buy a new trailer as the old one was a POS. Have good experiences with a transport company and a trailer guy; if and when you need some info. Agree that the Caledon is pretty; a...

    RF's?

Richard: I agree, 6 kts. is better all around than 18...unless it's rough. Then we like to get up and go. We are the south shore of Long Island Ny; the Great South Bay is fairly large; but not very deep. So when the winds blows, it gets really choppy with steep, close waves. Our RF slides right...

    RF's?

Looking a the Cdory pic; where are you located? Looks like some pretty big boats in the background...either commercial vessels or sailboats?

    RF's?

CDory is anher boat we looked at. 2 advantages of the Rosborough over the CDory are: better in rough water. CDory pounds more. Also, the sliding doors on both sides of the RF give great ventilation and ease in docking. Another nice pocket cruiser, but harder to find, is a Caledon. They are...

    RF's?

This will be our 3rd season; downsized from a 32 Albin Sportfish. Love the Rossi; had to get used to smaller spaces;l but it has plenty of storage. The trick is to put things away and not leave them lying around. It is a perfect 2 person boat, with room for a couple of kids. Limited space for...

    Older and affordable trailerable trawlers?

We have a 25 Rosborough. Nova Scotia made (until recently; now in NH). Outboard powered; cruises easily at 16-18 kts. with twin 90's. Usually we go slow; but when it is rough the boat perfroms beter on plane. First made for Nova Scotia PD boats; so very seaworthy. A little pricey tho; unless you...

    cruising at 60 MPH

thanks Ted. We hope to retire in a year or so. Have a place in Stuart FL and made several Bahama and keys trips; but nothing to the west coast. That's on my bucket list for sure. And I'll be picking knowlegable people's brains when the time comes.

    cruising at 60 MPH

After many years of owning our Albin 32 (Sportfish; but used as a trawler) we have down sized to a 25 foo Rosborough pocket trawler. When asked what is our cruising speed, I answer 60 MPH...going down the highway. The advantage of this boat is we can haul her anywhere; plop her in and off we go...
