    Selling

Well, circumstances have brought us around to where we have decided to sell our 1979 42 LRC... we have been live aboard now a couple years on this one. But life brings changes. Nothing bad.. just a confluence of events. Anyway... she will be listed with Vercoe Yacht Sales here in the next...

Ideas Needed For Food Storage in Main Salon

Our 42LRC has a wrap around galley on the Stbd side... and the table/couch was taken out and are just comfortable chairs now. (previous owner got tired of running into the table after a few too many scotches). Fortunately this design gives lots for storage for foodstuffs and pots/pans have lots...

Which is why I throw this on top of the spare bunk before throwing down the mattress: True Blue 20 in. x 30 in. x 1 in. Budget Washable Filter-0120301.1 - The Home Depot cheap and works fine.. if in doubt, use 2 layers, it is still cheaper. Under the main mattress (live aboard) we use curved...

    12 v Water Maker Recommendation

Geeze.. I must be doing something wrong.. with your unit I would only need to run it about 5-6 hours... a week!

Euro type flush mount deck shower

ummm, not wanting to veer off topic too much here.. but seriously? 2.5 gallons? a minute? As liveaboards, we do very well with a 1GPM shower head and have no complaints... means filling the water tank a lot less too.. Don't you dare let my wife hear that number!

Shore Power - 50/30 amp Question

It works fine, until you overload the 30 amp cord. Easy to do too. Run an electric heater in winter, combined with the water heater in the morning for a shower onboard, combined with your battery charger kicking in, your fridge firing up, the coffee maker getting you started for the day...

    firefighting/super bilge pump

Back when I was in the Navy many years ago.. we had something called P-250 pumps.... I always wondered if they could be procured privately.. and now I know the answer is yes... which makes me wonder how one of these remote start units would work on board.... hmmmm...

    Aluminum Anodes

Sitting in fresh water I know aluminum is the preferred material for anodes on my shaft and rudders... In fact, I just replaced them this month... (though the discussion on not lasting as long could also be a result of sitting in a "hot" marina with lots of stray charge around you eating them...

    Lofoten Diesel heater

just found a notice on the Dickinson site.. apparently there is a known issue with low sulpher diesel.... which is exactly what I filled with just a few days before this all started being a problem..... so, at the risk of being wrong, I think I can presume it is a fuel issue... now to...

    ventilation w/o losing heat

my understanding is that as the air is drawn out, the heat is transferred to ceramic disks... (or some such).. then released back into the air that is being drawn in on the next stage.

    ventilation w/o losing heat

Just saw these.. found them in an article about a tiny home in northern Canada being tested against the cold.... and of course I had to look up the specs... 12 VDC at 3.3W Used in pairs (one pulls air out while the other pushes air in and alternates every 70 seconds or so) The best part...

    Wellcraft Californian 34 LRC HIN

was following this thread to see what I could learn about the HIN's... I have a 42LRC, but it was Built in Tustin in 79.... my HIN is JCM421660379 so.. 42 ft. #166 March of 1979 as I understand it... seems they used the same pattern of numbering... which might be confusing if I am #166 in...
