    Twin vs single

The boat I bought had twins, I added a bow thruster after 5 years. I need all the help I can get getting in and out of slips, or doing locks with wind and current. If had a single and bow and stern thrusters it would be fine. Cost and redundancy of twins are factors but insignificant. I...

For Those Who Have Had Their Teak Decks Removed

Looks great, and if you beat the leak... Perfect. Your comments on your boat only being worth only so much no matter how much you invest in it are right on. I have a 73 42' gb that will never be worth half of what I have into it. Just put a bow thurster on it... I love it, will make it easier...

For Those Who Have Had Their Teak Decks Removed

I did find some pics that were really not taken as before and after unfortunately I don't know how to post them. It is good stuff, really covers well, affordable and for me at 15:1 worth the risk of less than $1000. I figured I could still always rip the teak out.

For Those Who Have Had Their Teak Decks Removed

    Generator, replace or not

I replaced an old onan with 600 watts of solar and 10 115 amp deep cycle batteries. Still need Honda gas generator to top batteries off everyday at anchor. I have 7 cu ft of refrig and 7 cu ft of freezer (ac/dc). It all works real well, but solar and wind are an 85-90% solution. We are...

Garmin 4012 or 5012 touch screen?

I have 5012 and like it very much. The large screen allows you to have 3 windows open and not have to squint and stop driving to find what you are looking for on the screen. The touch screen really makes it easy to operate. Maps are not cheap and the vision maps (pricey) with all sorts of...
