Sabre saw and chainsaw day on golden view again removing after deck above engine to get at beams and beam shelf for remedial work.

For those of you that are not faint hearted, We recently started stripping the wheelhouse and now deck from our historic 40ft retired Scottish Seine netter to get at some dodgy deck beams prior to reclaying a new deck and installing a larger deckhouse. Will post pics as we progress

As a jobbing boat builder my wife and family only buy me rum or tools, topped up the box with a new grinder a smaller polishing machine another cordless drill and a half sheet orbital sander?

She changed a lot after that picture was taken now got a large deckhouse we also changed boats a year later now running 33 ton Seine netter

Oh aye Radiant Stars a nice looking boat, the Gardner would be nice but I like the Cummins. Parts are easily obtained and I used to work for a Cummins dealer so I have a "backup" system on tap if I need tech help with the engine. Hugh

Evening, the original engine was a Gardner (six cylinder) quite a fast boat from what some of her ex crew tell me. The Cummins was stuck in 86/87, and she was laid up in late 96, so she worked for 10 years with the Cummins. She was turning a 5 blade prop then, it was taken off and sold and now...
