    San Juan Islands Cruise

Would love to know about the effectiveness of the steadying sail. I have thought about rigging one on our Californian 42 LRC. We often travel to Catalina and back which is often a beam reach with rolling seas. Seems like this would be perfect.

Does anyone have the capacity of the mast/boom on 42 lrc? Wondering how heavy a dinghy I can hoist onto rear deck. Mostly concerned w standing rigging.

Please keep us posted on how to obtain a pair of these. Or if you could just provide the graphics file that would also work.

    Sionyx

I've got the discontinued Aurora Sport. I use it with a suction cup camera mount on the bridge and view on an iPad. I find that it works incredibly well. Even with just a tiny bit of moonlight its great. Especially nice when coming into a mooring field at night w zero viz and being able to...

‘79 Californian 42 LRC pre-purchase survey follow up

I have a 42lrc w twin 3208NA 210hp. I've often felt we are over powered with that. We typically run 7.5 to 9kts. The big V8 Cats are barely working at those speeds. I've never seen another one with 3208TA. It is a semi displacement hull so maybe you can get it really going if you don't mind...

    How fast is your Californian?

Our 42 LRC will supposedly do 12-14kts with the Cat 3208NA at 210hp. We've never taken it past 9.5 but it felt like there was a lot left.

    First Boat - Used: Californian?

We have owned a Californian 42 LRC in So Cal for two years. We have run the boat up the backside (into the breeze and swell) of Catalina in 20-25kt wind with a significant swell. I found it behaved beautifully. It never pounded. We were very comfortable. These boats are very heavily built. I...
