Raymarine will no longer refurbish cable. Suggest scrapping of crumbling coating and spray several coats of liquid wire. Find a grey or black cloth string tie pouch and lay wire/ cable in bag and hang on consule. Mine works fine and cosmetically makes a little improvement.
