    two engines or one

pushing engine that certainly would be true, to some extent. i did not push any engine. i assume that my bad tac was relatiely useful so one engine or two i used the same rpm. for that rpm, one engine got about 7 mph, with 2 engines it got about 8.3 mph, not 4.15 mph.

    two engines or one

trying to wrap up all this has been very helpful. it is clear that in general the multiviscosity characteristics of oil are not understood by every user. half of my initial proposition was in response to past queries where a two engine captn wondered how it would be to run just one. I tired...

    two engines or one

that graphic is most informative. thank you for attending to this so well. I would not presume to be so offensive as to waste anyone's time and good will on this. One tac is defunct, the other says I have been running at 3400 rpm. Is it correct to infer from that graph that the engine will...

Gulfstar 36, 2 perkins engines, going from New Orleans to Brunswick, 1200 mi, 19 days, 1973 boat, engines burning, each 1.5 qts of 10 w oil per hour, at onset, threatened to scuttle the trip, not enough oil avail for this. started running only one engine and swithing every few hours. running...

    Recommendations on a crimper?

there are various crimpers used for alum and copper ferrules for art work and fishing. the area of home depot and lowes with the terminals will have a variety of long handled heavy head and handle crimpers,as will a fishing supply store. depending on the metal alloy on the terminals, they may...

    Alternator or Battery

thanks for all the suggestions. i did the voltmeter suggestion as a conduit between alt and batt and got next to nothing, so alternator bad despite being just rebuilt. wiring maze led me to a wrong connection that cooked it apparently. alternator now in shop, shop in limbo, we in limbo...

    Alternator or Battery

very helpful. Thank you.this is a two battery to two alternator system that is isolated from each other. I didn't want to connect two batteries so if one of them went bad it would not drag the other one down. However your comment about the one wire alternator seems pertinent here. This...

    Exhaust Leak

Thank you Dave. i thought a reply would take a week at least. The instant help makes me glad my wife insisted that i put this question out there. I am going to try to find the very small but strong technician. As it was i was just going to abandon the generator.

    Exhaust Leak

I have a Kohler gen. exhaust leaks. it is under the side deck, with about 3 inch clearance on top, cannot see the exhaust side even with a mirror. might be the mixing elbow or gaskets or something else. It seems impossible to get at that side of the engine to fix anything. No normally sized...
