    Boat Selection and Draft

You want 4' draft and a protected prop. My 1979 Mainship has that and I feel quite safe in the Bahamas as well as the intracoastal.

    Ceiling carpet glue

Thank you. A 2'x3' section has come down so the Gorilla glue might be the way to go. I also like the injection for any future problems away from the edge.

    Hello from Annapolis

I'll have to check, but I think it's 11'11" beam and I've always figured 4'draft.

    Freeze Plug

I have a 1979 34' MK I Mainship trawler with the Perkins 6.354 engine. My starter motor just went bad and the repair shop said water was getting into it and I should check the freeze plug for corrosion. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Where is the plug located? Thanks

    Bow or Stern Thruster

I had a Vetus Bow Thruster on a previous boat (Albin 32+2) and now have a Sideshift stern thruster on our 1979 34' Mainship. I found the bow thruster moved the boat around more but am now getting used to the stern thruster and am quite pleased. The Sideshift was much less money.

    Solar installation

I have a 210 watt solar panel. Thinking of connecting it to the controller and then going to a buss bar. From there I would connect 2 wires , one for each battery (for some reason the 2 house batteries are on opposite sides of the boat, to be corrected later) and fuse both individual wires. Has...

Cruising across Florida west to east

Lake crossing I second spending the night at Roland Martin's Marina. Do the main route thru the center, not the rim route. A good GPS helps a lot as some of the markers are a way off and hard to see. When you get to the east side, Indiantown marina is close by.
