    Why have a Y valve?

No Y-valve, no plumbing, no thru-hulls, no expensive hoses, no pump out fee's, etc..... Went with a composting head, draws less than 2 amps per 24 hours,(small muffin fan for moisture control), wife and I can go 3-4 weeks before re-charging, and the compost goes into the trash, or into the...

    A/C Charging Specs

Unless you are a certified refrigeration technician, as a past HVAC technician for the F.A.A., I wouldn't want to get caught with a set of manifold gauges, a can of refrigerant, (especially R-22), and no recovery equipment with you, and "oh, my recovery equipment is in the garage" won't hack it...

    Composting head info

When we looked at the listing on our boat and seen the composting head, I thought, well, that will be the first thing to go. After watching the videos, and using the composting head, it's a winner for the wife and I. I normally dump the urine tank in a bathroom. I just screw on the cap and...

    Strange thing with waste system

Makes me appreciate our composting head on board. Weeks and weeks between emptying with my wife and I on board, no holding tank and hose issues, no plumbing, no thru hulls, no odor, no chemicals, and the little 12V computer muffin fan runs on less than 2 amps per 24 hours. Don

    High thrust outboards

The reason I asked was because we had the 6 HP Tohatsu Sail-Pro, (which comes with a high thrust prop), on our wing keeled Catalina-22 MK-II. There was a HUGE difference in reverse thrust. I notice minimal thrust with the 50 HP Honda on our new to us Nomad.

    Nimble Nomad Trawler

A week ago today we picked up our 1995 Nomad, (Tropical version), just south of Chicago on the Illinois River. The weather window was closing quickly so we made her road ready and started heading south to our home in Florida. The next morning we awoke to 28 degree temperatures and snow flurries...
