    Opinions please -

Our engine takes in water thru the inlet in the skag. It circulates thru the engine and goes back out thru the bottom of the outdrive. The outdrive is the only thru hull opening on our boat. Everything else is above the waterline.

    Opinions please -

There are loads of opinions on here. Lot of great information. My boat has a Bravo 3 Merc gas engine. My husband is a shade tree mechanic. That is part of the reason we bought this particular boat. Most everything we need the fix is easily accessable. We can pull up and fuel up, no paying $4/...

    Opinions please -

I bought a small trailerable boat to start out. 27ft. Cost me 20k plus 12k for a truck to haul it. I draw SS plus military pension. I cruise in sections. Dont have to pay slip fees, unless i want to. I crawled all over various boats, until i found my Donzi. Search every nook and cranny of...

    Whats your opinion?

I like the boku, but the dots over the u make it look like 2 i's. I think the third one is good without the dots. A darker color for the letters would stand out more and be visible from a distance. I renamed my boat. Here is the name we designed. Her contrasting color was Hunter green with...

Hello from the sunny Gold Coast

Hey Sue, Welcome to the TF. As you can already see, there is lots of knowledge on this forum. They helped me solve the problem with my Vacuflush. Saved me from having to replace major parts. Turned out all we needed was a vacuum pump for $50. Problem solved. [emoji3]

    Boating Newbie

Welcome to the TF. I was down in Florida visiting my sister on her Mainship 40, when a group of Loopers came into Ft. Pierce Marina. One of them had a 36ft Nordic Tug. I fell in love too. There are lots of them out there. They are a but more expensive, but their fit and finish is worth it. If I...

Long time lurker, first time poster

Welcome. And thanks for your first post. I myself was on here along time before I posted. Since I've joined I bought my first powerboat. It took almost a year of research and boat crawling to find the right one. That in itself is an education. I am blessed that my husband is mechanically...

    Badly oxidized gel coat

How we polished our boat The bottom of our boat has never been painted. We used an orbital polisher with buffing compound. Then polished it. If there is still oxidization go over it with 1000, then 2000 grit sand paper and repeat the polishing. IF its really bad you may have to pay. We are on a...

    WeGoLook.com, anyone have comments

I crawled up and down dozens of boats and asked a lot of questions. My sister is selling her liveaboard sailboat and going for a 44' trawler. Pictures always look good. I would drag along a knowledgeable boat person to teach you what to for. If there are no problems, then survey.

Today we trailered the M/V Roundabout to Old Hickory Lake to practice docking, tying off lines, etc. at a near by ramp. Found out the the Lake was down a couple of feet. Almost ran aground near the dock!! We had to stay on the channel or run aground in 3ft of water. Our draft is 3.5 wet. Our...
