    Dimensions of Helm slding door

Hi all We have an IG32 built in 1986, recently i had cause to rebuild the helm door to damage and subsequent rot. Seems I may have made a rookie mistake in my measurements in not checking if the door was rectangular or slight rhmboid. The new door was really nice except it didnt fit. Now i look...

"Roll Call" For Gourmet Cruisers and Island Gypsies

Amy reason you went with Toplac? I keep getting told I shouldn't use a single pack. As an amateur painter I don't want the complications of mixing the parts. Any thoughts on how long it will last before having to recoat? Definitely getting that Rust product! Cheers

    Pulling up the teak

OK, optionj I hadn't considered going to fibreglass has some attaractions as well. As per above advice the first part of the project plan will be to clearly identify what is below the teak. So will check around the lazarette and also have a good look from below. Thnaks All

    Pulling up the teak

Hi all Seriously thinking of pulling up the old, worn and heavily delignated(?) teak decking and putting diwn the product from https://www.topteak.com.au/ RMYC Broken Bay has it installed in their tenders and it looks and feels really good. My main hesitation is I have no idea where to start...

    Kohler Generator issue

Finally after three months of lockdown have been able to get down to the boat. Replaced the salt water pump (previous thread) and brought home the battery which was flat to recharge manually. Somehow the breaker on the switch panel had been turned off and charger wasn't running even though I was...

Sizing rope section of Anchor Rode

Yeah tube is no issue 12mm would fit easily. The aim of having the rope as part of the Rode is for those cases where I really need to get all 34m of the chain on the bottom. I am always in the same waters depth is about 10m average but with some deep holes along some of the rocky shores - so...

Sizing rope section of Anchor Rode

HI all Am in the process of replacing the anchor rode, have a new 34m Graded 8mm chain, the original was 40 but 34m is the amount in one drum. The original rope section looks ok but it is the original and parts of it are quite stiff, concerned that it's breaking strain may be compromised after...
