    Prairie for sale

Awww, exactly what I am looking for but about three years too early for me. Gorgeous! If you ever get to the point where you would consider owner financing, please contact me. Prairie 29s are wonderful.

Willard 30 Nomad: On My Shortlist

Thank you so much everyone! Invaluable advice, as usual. Sounds like I will be scratching the Willard off my list.

Willard 30 Nomad: On My Shortlist

Hi all, I am on a 3-4 year countdown to living aboard, so I am trying to put together a list of boats that would be good matches for me. Happily, I could spend hours on Yacht world without getting bored, so the research is coming along pretty well thus far. So far I have three boats...

Let me help you sell your boat!!!

It took me a minute to realize that the engine is not sitting on "grass look" outdoor carpet. Do you think there is a market for boat "tidiers' and stagers? I am saving up for my first liveaboard, and that sounds like a decent part time job to build the kitty, and snoop around a lot of...

Let me help you sell your boat!!!

I am actually surprised that there isn't a greater presence of professional stagers for boats. For just a couple hundred bucks you can get someone to come to your house and tell you what to get out of there and what to change to make it sell for top dollar. A similarly priced option for boats...

New poster, looking forward to joining you all ASAP

The Chapman's arrived today. I can see why people frequently tell someone who is dreaming of boating to go read it first, and then come back if they are still interested. There is enough here to keep me busy for all of winter break. Better than most law textbooks though, since it has pictures.

Thanks everyone! It is pretty clear to me that galley position is just one of those things you have to experience in person to see if it works for you on that particular boat. I can't tell if galley down on the Atlantic 30s means you give up the big hanging locker, so I think I just have to...

    name boards

If anyone is interested in splashing out a bit, I cannot recommend Dorr Woodcarving in Rockport, ME enough. They made a two sided sign for my restaurant in 2000, and it was gorgeous. It also stood up to Maine weather extrememly well. That sign was around 1K, but one sided signs are much cheaper.

I am sure I will need all the help I can get, and I don't scare easy, but I do want to be able to evaluate who knows what they are talking about when they are helping. Or even, what they are talking about. Marin, thank you so much for that post. It is easy to loose track of the fact that...

Great suggestion, Steve! I am fine with no separate shower, since I use the one at the gym in the morning anyway. Thanks!

Thank you so much everyone. Those are all great suggestions and observations, and I will certainly remember them all. Surveys are an absolute must. I like getting a thorough "to do" list from a neutral and knowledgeable party, and I am sure the insurance folks will want one. It is a small...

Hi everyone, I have been reading everything on the site, and thought it would be polite to introduce myself, rather than creeping around anonomously. I am 40, finishing my last year in law school after many years a chef, and have been interested in living aboard for the past three years. I...
