    Electric Boats

Protection by the US 7th Fleet and then the 5th Fleet. But, it's not just Exxon that gets a "free" escort service.

Crankshaft change out on a cruise ship

Wow. And I thought I was pretty SH because, back in the day, I could swap out a VW bus engine while hardly breaking a sweat.

    Humor

Arnold Schwarzenegger is featured on Harvey Levin's "Objectified" on FNC tonight. Levin asks him about how he was chosen for "Terminator" and asked whether he was their first choice. Arnold said he thinks O.J. Simpson was their first choice. Q: "Why did they not go with O.J.?" A: "That...

    Lost at sea for months?

Dropped their men's bodies over the side, but then realized they didn't even know how to hoist the sails. Definitely more to this story!

TT35 at the Annapolis Boat Show

I'm planning on going to the Annapolis show tomorrow. If I do I'll get pics of the TT35 to share. But I'm really going to look at these: 2520 XL SC - Parker Boats and to have a breakfast at Chick & Ruth's Delly before it changes too much, now that it's been sold after 52 years in the same...

    cottaged up boat

FF, I hear 'ya, brother. But I'm spoiled. This is the view from my upper deck, almost the same from my home office. That's the Chesapeake Bay on the left, with Stoney Creek feeding into it from the right. That's going to be hard to give up. That, and the $ and now I have a grandson ... all...

Our take and opinion on Trawler Fest 2017 Bay Bridge

I couldn't make it to the Bay Bridge TF this year. The Gov't FY end snuck up on my customers again this year (it seems to every year) and I had to stick close to the computer through midnight Saturday, the 30th. The Annapolis Powerboat show is next weekend. You may see something you like...

    8 People on Fly Bridge?

I'm not a marine architect and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night. But I'd say this - It's like the question of, "When should I reef my main?" Answer, "When it first crosses your mind." Your gut's telling you 8 is too many. You're probably right.

    Trawler Fests

I've been to TFs in Solomon's, Baltimore and the Bay Bridge. They seem to have gotten smaller as they moved around. All had some interesting boats, especially the ones with private owners. Solomon's was the prettiest setting. Baltimore had the most things to do other than the show. Bay...

    Anyone with a sea chest

I've used a BoatSafe type heater when leaving my boat in over the winter. Was never a problem. Never had a power failure either, so, there's that. But that is a consideration.
